    Join us for an exciting Mariachi workshop led by the Lambert family! Suzanne Lambert is a Suzuki violin teacher and professional Mariachi musician, and her family will introduce string players to authentic Mariachi style and repertoire.

    Participants in the workshop will be invited to perform at the SAA Conference on February 27.

    Who Can Participate
    • Violin, viola, and cello students
    • Level: Minuet 2 and above

    Repertoire
    • Students through Book 3: Los Machetes
    • Students in Book 4 and above: El Hidalguense

    SMPLA is hosting two rehearsals for the "Winter Hoedown, Suzuki Festival, and Silent Auction."

    Date: Monday January 26th and Monday February 9th

    Time: 5:45pm - 7:10pm

    All string instruments and all ages/abilities are invited and encouraged to participate - Violin, Guitar, Cello, Viola, Bass. (These rehearsals will also include a few pieces from the “Suzuki Ensembles” program, below.)

    “SUZUKI ENSEMBLES”: We’ll be learning selections from the Bach Brandenburg Concertos, movie tunes, fiddle pieces, and world music, along with special arrangements of the Suzuki repertoire. We will have five Workshop rehearsals, two public performances, and a concert. All string instruments and all ages/abilities are invited and encouraged to participate - Violin, Guitar, Cello, Viola, Bass. Each rehearsal will also include a “mini” solo recital - an opportunity for one or two students to perform a piece they have been working on. Rehearsals: March 2nd and 16th, April 6th and 20th, and May 11th (All Monday evenings, 5:45 – 7:10). Performances: Sunday, Mar. 22nd and Saturday April 25th, place/time TBA. Concert: Monday, May 18th, 6:00 pm.

    The Orange County Suzuki Piano Teachers are pleased to host a special Workshop & Masterclass with Keiko Kawamura, master teacher from the Talent Education School in Matsumoto, Japan—the birthplace of the Suzuki Method.

    This multi-day event offers Suzuki piano teachers, students, and observers a rare opportunity to study authentic Suzuki piano pedagogy with a teacher whose training traces directly to the founders of the Suzuki Piano Method.

    Keiko Kawamura is an esteemed Suzuki piano educator with decades of experience teaching within the Suzuki tradition in Japan. She is known for her clear, thoughtful teaching and deep understanding of Suzuki philosophy, technique, and musical development.
