Suzuki Music Association of California

SMAC Membership

Membership Invitation

Dear California Suzuki Music Teachers and Student Families,

The Suzuki Music Association of California would like to extend to you an invitation to join SMAC and participate in your local branch activities and virtual workshops.  Your local branch will keep you in touch with the teachers from your area as well as statewide.  As a member of SMAC, additional benefits include:

  • Teacher workshops (on a state and local level) with access to nationally known teachers in a smaller venue with option for SAA credit.
  • Graduation celebrations and recitals for your students when they reach milestones in the Suzuki Literature and beyond.
  • Regional Play-Ins where students can meet and play with other students in your area.
  • A network of teachers where you can feel support and encouragement.
  • Liability insurance for your private studio events.
  • Scholarship information and oppotunities.
  • Many other events including summer camps, retreats and Suzuki Institutes.

Many of our SMAC members are also members of the Suzuki Assocation of the Americas, which puts you in touch with the national Suzuki network.  The SAA keeps you connected through the Americas conference where you have the privilege of making friends from all over the United States, Canada and South America.

We hope to have you join us and meet you at one of our many California events in the near future!

Sincerely,

Celia Vollov
President, SMAC

How Membership Works

SMAC uses a membership software program that enables members to join on-line with encrypted security. This enables members to create their own log in details and edit them at any time. To simply membership administration, dues can only be paid on line.

  • Membership enables you to have insurance for your events and use SMAC’s non-profit registration, both of which are commonly required by various venues.
  • Membership begins on the date you join and is valid for 12 consecutive months. You will receive a reminder to renew the month before your membership would expire. Whatever date you renew, 12 months will be added to your current membership period.
  • The on-line membership form lets teachers choose two branches/chapters to receive information from (more if you wish).
  • Each member can choose which information is made public and can edit their information anytime.
  • Membership makes you a member of all SMAC branches and eligible for all SMAC benefits.
  • Students of teacher members are automatically members of SMAC.
  • Each Branch has a Leadership Team which you are welcome to participate in. These teams determine, plan and coordinate their respective events. They also discuss various Branch plans and issues.
